HEY PPL! i am BACK IN ACTION! actually i was like on the 21 of dec but i jsut got time to update u guys on my life!
In Summary, what happened the past few days:
Worked and toiled down at my dad's shop to earn extra cash for outings that were going to happen!It was FUN but at the same time tiring cause i had to stand at the counter all day but it was worth it!
One of the outings was a sleepover with HARSHA,SHRUTI,ARCHANA at my place on chritmas eve-chritmas! WEEEE it was like OMG FUN! and we didint sleep until like 7 in the morn. it was also like the first sleepover where we didint feel sleepy, and neither didi we drink coffee! hehe. we borrowed like 6 movies from the rental shop down at KAP and watched like 4 of em! Namely "John Tucker Must Die", which i must comment was FUNNY and a total chick flick!"My Boss's Daughter", which also was FUNNY and a chick flick. "Slap Her, She's French" WHICH WAS HILARIOUS! VERY BITCHY i must say! and the last one was "a lot like Love" which was SUPER romantic! hehe. so that and loads of gossip as well like always in any of our sleepovers. and VERY interesting gossip this time round! then there were also PICS! WEEEE! totally FUN!
and then there was more work again at my dad's place and then outings and then more dancing as well with friends! went to clarke quay as well like twice this week to have dinner with family once and friends the other time! RAS is like SUPER Expensive while tis food tastes just liek RAJ at serangoon. Tapas Tree and RAS BOTH had a nice range of exotic drinks and mocktails. i suggest u go for the shirley temple or Ras Speciality if u happen to go to RAS! [this is for those of u out there under 18 yrs of age]. AND OMG! GUESS WHAT!?!?! I SAW MR.CHRIS HO there when i went with my family. THANK GOD he didnt see me but he was looking SUPER funky. too bad i didnt have my camera with me! heh.
so then comes the third highlight of this week which was yesterday. i went to the bank to deposit my savings like i do at the end of every year, at POSB when my dad upgraded my account to the adult savings account because till now mine was under POSBkids account. I also got my first ATM card! WEE.
its SUPER FUN! and now i dun need to carry cash cause i can pay by nets! hehe. its gonna be a fun year and hopefully everyone learns to cherish the true meaning of life...

hey guys!
i am writing like now because i woke up like at 2 this morning, more like this afternoon. YESTERDAY WAS THE WEDDING! it was like SUPER fun! haha esp with nidhi didi's friends all there. PLUS LOADS AND LOADS of rituals i got to see which was like really REALLY fun and exciting and new and interesting to watch!
first off the whole day started with us all waking up in the wedding house, and then got ready and freshened up! then we had "haven" or prayers in the house. tt was for the whole goodbye thing for the bride giving the bride well wishes and good luck for the new turn in her life and stuff like that! then after all that is done, the brother of the bride's mother puts on wedding bangles for the bride. well, first off the bangles are put in milk and offered to the gods and then they are taken out and passed around and all the people present in the prayers and these people give blessings to these bangles as good luck for the bride. then the brother of the bride's mother puts on these bangles. since her mother has only 1 sister, that is my mother, the sister's husband aka my dad puts on the bangles.
after the bangles ceremonies, came the haldi ceremony, where everyone one by one takes turn to put on haldi on the bride. this is a ceremony to beautify the bride. [however she was as pretty as can be with facials already done]!!!! HEHE. so after that we went to the temple to get holy water for the bride to take bath in. this is done to purify the bride before her big day. then all the family members had brunch!
then WENT TO THE BEAUTY PARLOUR! i looveD this part of the dAY cause it was super fun! not the makeup part but the part where we did it together as friends, together with the bride! haha then i got my hair and makeup done like twice! hahaha. oh and like outting on the dress was the most troublesome! it was a lehnga! aka a type of indian dress! will upload pics sooN! and then came the part of goign to the wedding.
as bridesmaids, we had to follow the bride in her car and then take her into her room before the groom came! so we did and then we had the opportunity to put on the first "kalichiriyas" aka bridal ornaments put on by sisters and friends on the wedding bangles of the bride. they looked really nice and overall she just looked totallly mindblowing! hahah
then i went out to watch the "barat" [aka the groom together with his family and friends] enter the wedding tent. the whole custom of indian weddings includes the groom entering and then the bride comes out from her room, and then after the celebrations, the groom taking the bride with him back to his house!
so like the "barat" came with a band around them, and the groom's friends dancing in front of him. on my side stood the family and friends of the bride, waiting for them to enter the tent so that they can welcome them. then after the groom and his family enters, the male members of both families welcome each other. like the father of the bride welcomes the father of the groom and the brother of the bride welcomes the brother of the groom, etc and so on and so fourth. in this case it was only the male members but some families also include the females.
so then the groom enters and slowly walks all the way to the stage. then the bride comes out accompanied by the bridesmaids and goes onto the stage. susequently they put on garlands of flowers on each other and take loads of photos before they proceed around the fireplace.
the fireplace is usually a square and at each edge sites a pair. at one edge, the bride and the groom. the second edge the groom's parents, the third edge the bride's parents and the fourth is the 'pundit" aka the one who does all the prayers.
HOWEVER, when the groom goes to the prayer area, the "saliyai" or bridesmaids hide the slippers of the groom, and at the same time, the best men try and get the slippers too so that they can protect them from the bridesmaids. this was SUPER fun, i must admit cause it was the first time i EVER did this even though i have seen it being done before. first time being involved in the action. and it was TOUGH! but we had a plan, and a backup one. it was like being in the secret service and the best part was that the bridemaids could say, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
so after that the bride and groom do their "saat Phere" or the seven rounds around the fire. 4 are done with the groom following the bride and the last 3 are done with the bride following the groom.
after the prayers, the groom needs to go back to the stage area, but the bridemaids had the slippers. HOWEVER, the worst part was that the best men went and ruined the good old tradition by getting an extra pair of shoes for the groom. however, the bridesmaids were smart enough as we had held onto the bride, and she could not go until we got our money. it is tradition for the groom to give the bridesmaids money to get his shoes back. so we fought and fought and didnt let go of the bride till we got justice! haha
finally the bridemaids won the fight by using our trits and strengths, not physically but mentally. we got the whoel family fighting from our side for the money and in the end, the bridesmaids got 1000 rs each, which is about S$40. the groom had to give like 11000 rs to get us to give him his bride back! haha
so even after that we gave him back his shoes and the 2 maids of honour, me and Krithika, put on 1 shoe each and then even had to clean it with our scarfs! haha. loads of pics were taken and it was SUPER FUN!
after that as the bride and groom took pics with like a million family members, me and the rest of the bridemaids danced, cause the parents of the bride had got a DJ. it was WHOAH fun just like the day before.
then we ate and i was wowed by the vast types of snacks, appetizers, dinner choices, desserts, and even tasters. it was like eat-a-palooza. it was like eat all u can! anyways it was FUN FUN FUN! after this whole thing came the formal dinner with the bride and the groom and the old relatives. tt was the same thing that happened during the engagement.
anyways that time i just mingled and had a few laughs with firends and such. sat around the fireplace which was NICE as compared to the cold COLD weather.
so like right now i gtg cause my cousin jsut came back. its a ritual that they come back the next day after the wedding to their parents place to pay final respect kinda thing anf anyways 2morrow she is off to australia for her honeymoon. so like BYE!

hey guys,
gurl all the way from india again! TODAY WAS THE HENNA RASM aka the henna tradition! it was SO FUN! me and nidhi didi's friends all danced and of course got henna put on us! it was like totally FUN! plus i met like loads of new fun relatives who were like around my age and it was like the first time we got to mingle! AM GONNA MEET THEM TOMORROW AGAIN TO HAVE A BLAST!!!! 2morrow is the BIG day! the wedding (Dum DA DUM DUM DA) hehe
so like today was just really really fun. as i mentioned in the last post nidhi didi's friends are like OMG FUN and FUNNY! so like today was even better with more people. the best part about such gatherings in india is that people just mingle even without knowing each other. there arent cliques cept for the 3 main types which are the kids, teens and parents aka oldies. so basically people just hang out together and its just a BLAST! if only it were like that EVERYWHERE in the world! the world would be SO MUCH HAPPIER!
haha so like again took MANY MANY pics. will upload them as well ASAP which will be once i return to Singapore. so like expect them around 22 Dec!
not much to write about today guys. only that we sat, got henna done till like 1/2 of our arm and danced with henna on. its been like 5 mins since i removed my henna and its like 1.35 AM here! haha and 2morrow the "chudidaar" is at 10 AM[a ritual where they put on bangles on the bride by her own parents and relatives to bid farewell] I THINK!?!?!? hehe not so sure bout this ritual though. will update u guys tomorrow! once i get to know the whole things myself
so its bye from my side for now and like i totally am missing ALL MY FIRENDS OVER THERE!..>!!!!

hey guys me again all the way from india, new delhi!
today was the second biggest day for my cousin cause it was the engagement! it was damn FUN! i have to hand it to Nidhi didi's [tts my cousin;the bride's name]FRIENDS~ they are like SO FUN! i mean i cant believe my cousin has such true,nice,caring and FUN!! friends. i mean what else can i say cept for that they were FUN FUN FUN! haha.
The whole thing was in KLOVES banquet hall [from 12-5pm]and it started off with the groom's family going in and the bride's family performing prayers and giving the groom's side families with loads and i mean LOADS of gifts! it was like gift-a-palooza! [more gifts coming later in the story...KEEP READING]
so once the bride's parents have welcomed the groom into the family and the bride's parents has given gifts to the groom's families, then comes the grand entrance of the bride herself! [and yes she sits in the background until this time. she is ritually not allowed to come out untill called by the groom's family. this is usually after the groom has been welcomed into the family]
and so SHE MAKES A GRAND and seriously GRAND entrance, with all friends and sisters. (INCLUDING ME!) haha. AND SHE LOOKED DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!we had to walk in front of her and hide her from the groom until the groom's mother comes to greet her.so we did and so the groom's mother came and finally the groom's family welcomed the bride into THIER family. this was SUPER KOOL! i mean all the bride had to do was sit their with her beutiful clothing and jewellery like a barbie doll! like my cousin REALLY looked like a pakaged barbie doll! so then the groom's parents and relatives all showered her with firstly the ritually given "chunni" or scarf and then a "sari". after that comes MONEY,dry fruits, LOADS AND LOADS of sweets, NAILPOLISH,PERFUME,LIPSTICK,and other makeup products, etc.and they also have to feed her sweets in her mouth as they give her the presents and i saw my SUPER HEALTH CONCIOUS COUSIN GOBBLE DOWN LIKE SWEETS!!! haha. was super surprising for me.
this whole time i was photographer! actually i chose to be even though there was a pro photographer with a D70 NIKON AND EXTERNAL FLASH. HUMPH SHOW-OFF!. so like anyways took loads of great shots. and i mean like 100 OVER! haha i like totally went crazy with the camera and now i have to go and upload all of them before 2morrow! AHHH
so anyways then came the appitizers, then lunch and then dessert!
and WHILE everyone ate, the bride and groom had to sit at their seats and behave like total figurines even thought they were looking like barbie and ken together!
AFTER EVERYONE ATE, there was a formal dinner with the closest relatives had to sit on this LONG table in between the banquet hall and eat togethe rwith the bride and groom.
oh and how can i forget, i MET MILLIONS OF PEOPLE! ok im exaggerating. it was like LOADS of new people, including those from Amit's "Jiju's"[tts the groom's name] side! i call him "Jiju" cause tts what u call your sister's husband in hindi! haha. so like i have loads more people to meet 2morrow and day after. 2morrow is the "Mehendi Rasm" AKA ladies night. its when all the ladies of the bride's family and friends gather and sing and dance and get henna applied by professionals called to the bride's home. and tt reminds me that i havent arranged the music. they asked me to pick the bride's henna together with the bride and so i did like a week back! also they asked me to be in charge of western music cause the classical instruments usually played, i cant play! so like i have to get the tracks of fast beats and grooving music tracks on cd! and i havent gotten and will get them 2morrow morning! AHHH! i am like going crazy cause being like the few of the closer relatives of the bride, we have to represent her on the floor while she sits with the groom like figurines! so we gotto look prim and proper!
ANYWAYS, i think i have typed quite a lot! will upload LOADS AND LOADS of pics soon. i found a card reader and will upload them most likely either 2morrow or the 16! KEPP LOOKING OUT FOR THEM!
PS I LOOK HORRIBLE IN THE AFTERMATH PICS CAUSE I WAS SUPER TIRED!

hey guys!
another update here all the way from India, New Delhi! met people from like all OVER! i dun even know who they are as my relations! HATE IT WHEN THEY PULL CHEEKS! [mostly its the old people] hehe anyways haviing loads of fun! Delhi is like SO MUCH better than the last time i came here! they have the new metro and new flyovers and poverty has actually gone down by A LOT!
shopping for weddings is SO DARN tiring i tell u! its like a whole new world of shopping experience! its a must for all girls to do it at leats once in their lifetime! but not more than tt cause it can get on your nerves! getting new clothes, jewellery and just plain LOADS OF STUFF for NO good reason can be kinda fuN! esp when your budget is limitlesS! HAHA yup folks your budget is pratically limitless cause everyone is in such high sirits tt u can get practically anything u look at or put your finger on.
haha so like my cousins engagement is tomorrow, the henna celebrations day after and marriage on the 15 so like i gtg to the parlour! haha mom making ti a must!

hey guys! so i finally was able to get internet connection and have realised the new and improved broadband connection in INDIA! haha [its not tt new in Singapore] but anyways this means i can come online and blog more often than i thought and it is MUCH cheaper than before. anyways its as usual cold in the mornings and nights and relatively hot in the afternoons here. have become REALLY lazy. sleeping like 12 hrs a day! haha nth better to do mah!
hehe. so like met all my friends and cousins! [cept for 1 guy MANIK [for those of u who know him!] he is like super busy! going to college and stuff! tt too all the way in Noida [for those of u who dont know its like 2 hrs by car from where he lives, which is next door to me] and at the same time seem to have become more used to delhi! TOOK LOADS OF PICS! will post them up ASAP! which will most likely be when i return! anyways have GREAT pics to show all of u there!
anyways happy hols for now and like be online when i come online to tell me tt i have awesome !!!! hahaha just jking lah!
